Simplemente decir que suenan a UNDERTONES + MONKEES + CHEAP TRICK, que son buenísimos en directo y que van a por todas en esta segunda gira europea.

A sus 58 años, el japonés Damo Suzuki es una auténtica institución musical, toda una referencia de la segunda mitad del siglo XX para cualquier melómano del rock. Formó parte de la mítica banda de krautrock CAN entre los años 1970 y 1974 y firmó sus cuatro discos más célebres ("Soundtracks", "Tago Mago", "Ege Bamyasi" y "Future Days")....

Afincado en la ciudad alemana de Colonia, ha pasado la última década celebrando "encuentros" sobre el escenario con un sinnúmero de bandas y diferentes reuniones de músicos, siempre buscando nuevas formas de comunicación en torno a la "composición instantánea". El proyecto "Damo Suzuki's Network" (http://www.damosuzuki.de/), una "asamblea de músicos sin ego que se comunica entre sí y con la audiencia", es su manera de establecer comunicación con sonidos locales alrededor del planeta.

En esta ocasión estará acompañada por la banda bermeana Eureka Hot IV y artistas invitados.

El concierto comenzará a las 20:30, en Nuntxaku zentroa de Bermeo (Bizkaia), en la Kapilla del antiguo colegio de los Hermanos.
La entrada será de 5€.

Damo Suzuki, 58 urterekin, ospe handiko pertsonaia da jada musikaren munduan, XX. mendeko bigarren erdialdeko erreferentzietako bat rockaren edozein musikazalerentzat.CAN krautrock talde mitikoko kidea izan zen 1970tik 1974ra, eta bere lau disko ospetsuenetan parte hartu zuen ("Soundtracks", "Tago Mago", "Ege Bamyasi" y "Future Days").

Kolonia hiri alemanean bizi da, eta azken hamarkadan "topaketak" ospatu ditu agertoki gainean makina bat talderekin eta musikarien bilkura ezberdinekin, betiere "bat-bateko konposizioa" delakoaren inguruan komunikatzeko modu berriak bilatzen. "Damo Suzuki's Network" proiektua (http://www.damosuzuki.de/) "egorik gabeko musikarien asanblada bat da, elkarren artean eta ikus-entzuleekin komunikatzen dena". Planetaren inguruan tokiko soinuekin komunikatzeko duen modua da.

Oraingoan, Eureka Hot IV talde bermeotarra eta lagun bereziak izango ditu ondoan.

Dad Horse Ottn was born in an abandoned churchyard in the wilds of South Carolina. Or was it Germany? Yes, he's German! He was a hellraiser and a punk rock scoundrel till, one day, he saw the light. The banjo light. The holy Lord God Jesus told him that he had a song to sing, and to sing it with a banjo.
And, drawing from southern Appalachian gospel and from the depths of his own scarred soul, he started The Dad Horse Experience to preach the Word through rough pure honest song.Dad Horse is a conduit of the ineffable truth of Mercy, Resurrection, and Eternal Life, but don't you evildoers be frightened away by his old-fashioned gospel sanctity. You'll like him anyway. Sure, his earthly aesthetics were shaped by wholesome folks like the Carter Family and Roy Acuff, but he himself also claims influence by the likes of Hawkwind, Jonathan Richman, and Johnny Cash. Sometimes, morbid humor snakes through the heavenward yearning. And why does this German post-post-punk country-gospel mystic one-man-band usually sing in English? Blame the Carter Family for sanctifying the English language for spiritual use.
What's he playing? First and foremost, there's the voice. Then we've got strong archaic banjo, and a rich bass via the fotdella bass pedal, which is an unusual foot-operated organ. And there is occasional kazoo.
Dad Horse spent years on the road as an itinerant one-man-band gospel street preacher, and many were saved from perdition and rowdy ways through contact with his banjo preaching. Magdalenes threw themselves at his feet begging spiritual renewal, and punk rockers disavowed their sinful excesses.
Happily, this trend only continues to grow. Dad Horse refuses to become a despotic cult leader, and maintains a saintly humility. He emphasizes that he is but the hollow reed through which Godliness is brought forth into our physical world. Let us be grateful, brethren and ladies, sinners and strippers, that we have the voice of Dad Horse to guide us through the night.

La banda de Power-pop/Punk The Stiffs se formó en Blackburn en 1977, autoeditaron dos singles – “Standard English” y “Inside Out” – en su sello Dork Records en 1979. Posteriormente la banda grabó el single “Volume Control” para EMI Records en 1980, antes de fichar por el sello de culto STIFF Records en 1981, para quienes grabaron el single “Goodbye My Love”, que se convirtió en uno de los singles clásicos del Power-pop (este fue el único single editado en España, bajo el título de “Adios Mi Amor”). The Stiffs continuaron tocando y grabando con diferentes formaciones hasta 1988, cuando el grupo se disolvió.

En 1999, The Stiffs volvieron con los cuatro miembros originales – Phil Hendriks (Voz principal y Guitarra); Ian “Strang” Barnes (Guitarra y Coros), Big John McVittie (Bajo y Coros) & Tommy O’Kane (Batería). Desde entonces, los lanzamientos de la banda han incluido el CD retrospectivo “The Punk Collection” en Captain Oi! Records, “Innocent Bystanders” en EMI Records, y el album en directo “Volume Control – Live” en Sanctuary Records, así como el DVD en directo “Let’s Activate”, editado en 2006.

En la última década, la banda ha actuado en grandes festivales de Punk/Powerpop en Reino Unido y República Checa, y realizó una exitosa gira por Japón. Ahora, The Stiffs están deseando tocar por primera vez en el estado.

Blackburn hirian sortu zen taldea 1977an. "Standard English" eta "Inside Put" singleak argitaratu zituzten 1979an zigilu propioan, eta 1980an "Volume Control" EMI Records-entzat. Hurrengo urtean Stiff Records diskoetxe mitikoak fitxatu zituen eta "Goodbye My Love" power-poparen kultuzko singlea kaleratu zuten. 1988ra arte jotzen eta grabatzen jarraitu zuten taldekide ezberdinekin, urte horretan taldea desegin zen arte.

1999. urtean, The Stiffs hasierako lau kideekin itzuli ziren: Phil Hendriks (ahotsa eta gitarra), Ian "Strang" Barnes (gitarra eta koruak), Big John McVittie (baxua eta koruak) eta Tommy O'Kane (bateria).
